AGROSTEM@PUTRA EMERGES AS CHAMPION OF THE UNI-CHALLENGE 2024 PROGRAM – PUNB X UPM

SERDANG, 8 December – The Final Presentation Competition of the Uni-Challenge 2024 program, organized by the National Entrepreneurial Corporation (PUNB) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was successfully held in grand fashion at the Dewan Putra PKPP, UPM. This event marked the culmination of a program aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit among UPM students. Out of the 12 teams that participated in the preliminary stage, only the top 5 teams advanced to the finals to present their innovative ideas in front of a panel of professional judges, consisting of experts from various industrial sectors.

The success of the Uni-Challenge 2024 Final Presentation Competition was highlighted by the victory of Agrostem@Putra as the champion, with Coco Splash securing second place, and GreenUp taking third place. Two other teams, Nylaa and FosCorner, also received consolation prizes in recognition of their hard work and innovative ideas.

This program, a collaboration between PUNB and UPM, was designed to provide participants with comprehensive exposure to entrepreneurship. The program focused on business strategies, communication skill development, as well as the practical application of entrepreneurial knowledge in real-life situations. Each idea presented was carefully evaluated based on creativity, marketability potential, and feasibility, making this program an excellent platform for nurturing young, visionary, and competitive entrepreneurs.

“We hope that participants will continue their entrepreneurial journey by joining the jumPER program as the next step. This program not only provides a platform to strengthen the skills learned but also helps them realize their business potential and build a solid foundation for long-term success in entrepreneurship,” said Encik Ahmad Nazlee Idris.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Hizmawati Madzin, Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Graduate Employability (CEM), UPM, this competition serves as an important platform for students to understand the challenges of the real business world. “What has been presented today is a testament to the participants' commitment in honing their talents, developing innovations, and creating sustainable business strategies. This aligns with the university's aspiration to produce graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also creative agents of change,” she said in her closing speech.

Associate Professor Dr. Hizmawati Madzin also expressed her appreciation to PUNB for their support through funding grants and strategic partnerships that ensured the smooth running of the program. She hopes that participants will make the most of the experience gained as the first step towards becoming change agents in the entrepreneurship sector.

The Uni-Challenge 2024 program is expected to have a long-term impact on industry development through innovative approaches and strategic collaboration between educational institutions and the industrial sector. This program is in line with efforts to produce graduates who are not only capable but also able to create job opportunities, rather than merely seeking employment.
