Serdang, 24 March 2025 – The Centre for Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Marketability (CEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), continued its faculty roadshow series with a visit to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM today.

The CEM delegation, led by its Director, Associate Professor Dr. Hizmawati Madzin, was warmly received by Professor Dr. Jalila Abu, Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

This roadshow aims to introduce the functions and roles of CEM to students and faculty staff, while also highlighting various career development and entrepreneurship opportunities available.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Hizmawati, CEM is committed to empowering UPM students through a range of comprehensive initiatives, including entrepreneurship training, soft skills development, and exposure to relevant job search platforms.

"Through sessions like this, we hope to open up space and provide early exposure to students on the diversity of career pathways, including entrepreneurship, so that they are better prepared to face the challenges of today's job market," she said.

She added that students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine have a professional advantage that can be expanded into entrepreneurial opportunities, such as mobile veterinary services, the production of animal nutrition products, consultation on animal health, and supporting food security through ruminant farming.

An interactive session was also held with the students to provide detailed information about career development platforms such as MyNext TalentCorp, MyFutureJobs by PERKESO, and LinkedIn, as well as guidance on building a more competitive career profile.

The CEM roadshow will continue to other faculties within UPM as a strategic effort to cultivate a culture of career awareness and entrepreneurship among students from the early stages of their university journey.
