Serdang, 7 March 2025 – The Centre for Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Marketability (CEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in collaboration with the Information and Communication Development Centre (iDEC), successfully organised the Job Hunting and Networking (JoHAN) Application Simulation Workshop on Friday at Zetta Lab, iDEC Infoport.

The workshop was held with the main objective of evaluating the effectiveness and functionality of the JoHAN application, a digital initiative designed to assist UPM students in job hunting, professional networking, and enhancing graduate marketability.

This one-day session involved all CEM staff as key participants, ensuring that they are well-versed with the system’s workflow and fully prepared to support users once the application is officially launched.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Hizmawati Madzin, Director of CEM, the workshop marked an important step in ensuring JoHAN is fully operational and ready for university-wide implementation.

“We believe that JoHAN will be a strategic platform to help UPM students prepare early for the job market. It not only provides access to job opportunities, but also facilitates structured and efficient career networking,” she said.

Beyond technical testing, the workshop also focused on system flow trials, identifying operational issues, and gathering direct feedback from early testers to enhance user experience and platform stability.

The JoHAN application is expected to be introduced soon to all Responsibility Centres (PTJ) across UPM, and subsequently made available to students as a key digital tool for managing career development from early in their academic journey.

This initiative reflects CEM and iDEC’s strong commitment to driving UPM’s digital transformation, particularly in supporting graduate employability, in line with the university’s aspiration to produce holistic, entrepreneurial, and globally competitive graduates.
