Kuala Lumpur, 27 February 2025 – A monitoring visit for the first phase of the "No-Hoe Agricultural Exploration" project under the University Community Socio-Entrepreneurship (UCSE) initiative was conducted on 27 February 2025 by Dr. Noorlila binti Ahmad and Mr. Muhammad Asri bin Junaidi.
The visit covered two urban community project sites: Kebun Persatuan Sejahtera Taman Herba in Raya Permai and the KRT Community Garden at Seri Perlis 2 Public Housing, Kuala Lumpur.
This project aims to introduce modern, sustainable farming methods without the use of traditional tools such as hoes, while also empowering urban communities to engage in self-sustaining food production. It is part of UCSE’s mission to promote inclusive community engagement and social entrepreneurship through innovative approaches.
The monitoring visit was conducted to evaluate the implementation progress and effectiveness of the initiatives at the ground level, ensuring that the project goals align with UCSE’s core values. Both sites showed encouraging signs of development, including active community participation and improved garden management.

During the visit, the monitoring team reviewed the layout of the gardens, no-hoe planting methods, organic fertiliser use, and community collaboration efforts. A feedback session with the project coordinators was also held to identify current challenges and propose improvements for future phases.
This initiative demonstrates the university’s continued commitment to bringing environmentally friendly agricultural technology closer to the community and promoting sustainable living through grassroots innovation.
