Kuala Lumpur, May 2, 2024 - UPM has been awarded the "Employers’ Choice Award 2024" by Talentbank at the award presentation and open house for the 2024/2025 Talentbank Hari Raya celebration at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Kuala Lumpur today.

UPM's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network), Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin, representing the UPM Vice-Chancellor, accepted the award on behalf of UPM.

Also present were Dr. Hizmawati Madzin, Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Graduate Employability Development (CEM), and Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Nur Izura Udzir, Deputy Director of the Centre for Strategic and Corporate Relations (PSPK), and Ludinata Misnun, Deputy Director of CEM.

During the event, UPM was recognized as one of the country's leading universities in producing industry-ready graduates for the year 2024 (2024's Leading Universities for Producing In-Demand Graduates, as Voted by Top Employers).

750 public and private organizations, as well as 100 universities, participated in the nominations for this prestigious award. The Employers' Choice Award 2024 recognizes the contributions of outstanding higher education institutions in producing highly skilled graduates to meet industry demands.

Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin, interviewed after the award presentation, stated that UPM is proud to be recognized as a university that produces graduates in high demand by industries. This signifies that our graduates possess high-quality skills.

"We are certainly delighted. This achievement aligns with the primary goal of UPM's Strategic Plan 2021-2025, which is to produce resilient graduates to face future challenges," he added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hizmawati Madzin, Director of CEM, mentioned that UPM also received a 6-star rating in 20 fields of study, including Food Science and Technology, Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Aerospace and Aeronautical, Counseling, Analytics, Multimedia, Animation, Human Resource Management, Public Relations, Language Studies, Architecture and Urban Planning, Communication, Sciences, and many more.

In its statement, Talentbank said that the winners were selected based on the excellence of universities in graduate employability, university-industry collaboration, and the ability of universities to produce quality and holistic graduates in the national and international markets.
