KUALA LUMPUR, 1st November - The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) through the Center for Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Employability, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organized the Graduate Job Market Conference (PPKG) 2023 attended by over 300 guests in the capital city.

The Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, officiated the opening ceremony of PPKG 2023 and delivered his speech in front of academic members from Higher Education Institutions (IPT); industry players; relevant ministries and agencies; as well as student representatives.

The conference, held in collaboration with strategic partners including Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp); Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC); Social Security Organization (PERKESO); and LinkedIn Malaysia, aims to identify and discuss the potential job market for graduates in the future.

PPKG 2023 also serves as a platform to formulate the best interventions for MOHE to enhance graduate employability, as well as determine the best solutions for issues related to job-skills mismatch, starting salaries, value addition, and more.

Moreover, the organization of PPKG 2023 aligns with one of the initiatives under Strategy Two: Student Career Enhancement in the Strategic Plan for Graduate Employability (PSKG) 2021 – 2025, which serves as a guide for Higher Education Institutions (IPT) in achieving their respective graduate employability agendas.

Prominent figures sharing their insights at the event include Dr. Nungsari Ahmad Radhi, Datuk Mohamad Idham Nawawi, Datuk Dr. Tengku Naufal Tengku Mansor, Datuk Dr. Mohd Gazali Abas, Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Shahrin Sahib @Sahibudin, Dr. Murali Raman, and many more.

During the same event, the YB Minister witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MOHE and SIRIM Berhad; and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Malaysia (CILTM); and launched the GEM@KPT – CEM.
