DR HIZMAWATI MADZIN APPOINTED AS NEW DIRECTOR OF CEM UPM

 

Serdang, April 1, 2024: Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) appointed Dr. Hizmawati Madzin as the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Graduate Employability Development (CEM), effective April 1, 2024. She replaces Associate Professor Dr. Mass Hareeza Ali who has served for nearly 8 years before this.

Dr. Hizmawati was a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UPM and previously served as the Deputy Director of the Centre for Co-curriculum and Student Development (PKPP).

Previously, she was no stranger among UPM Student Entrepreneurs as she has been actively involved in various entrepreneurial programs and activities of CEM. CEM appointed her as an entrepreneurship lecturer and mentor to guide student entrepreneurs in digital marketing activities since 2019.

Her expertise in software development aligns with the rapid development in today's marketing world which requires digital branding to enhance student entrepreneurs' involvement in online entrepreneurship programs.

Commenting further on her appointment, she expressed her gratitude to the UPM Vice-Chancellor for entrusting her with the leadership of CEM for the next 3 years.

"I am committed to continuing the tradition of excellence of CEM to strengthen UPM's efforts in preparing graduates for the job market," she said.

Meanwhile, UPM Vice-Chancellor, Dato' Prof. Ahmad Farhan Sadulullah, who spoke at the Appointment Letter Handover Ceremony to the Director of Service Centers and Principals here today, said that the newly appointed Heads of Departments are expected to elevate their respective teams through strategic and tactical planning, in line with UPM's Strategic Direction.

"Nevertheless, Heads of Departments must continue to excel in operating their respective Responsibility Centers (PTJs) for the sustainability of results achievement that is value-driven and inclusive," he added.
