Kota Kinabalu, 21 July 2022: The University of Malaysia Student Entrepreneurship Council (MAKMUM) Meeting was held at the HEPA Executive Meeting Room, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) on 21 July 2022. The meeting was attended by all members from public universities. 

"In addition to the MAKMUM routine meeting 3 times a year, this meeting aims to formulate the MAKMUM Strategic Action Plan 2022-2025", said Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu (Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni) UPM chairman of MAKMUM Session 2021/2022.

This meeting was jointly organised by the UMS Student Entrepreneurship Career and Development Centre represented by its director, Dr. Soon Singh A/L Bikar Singh. All members of the meeting were given the opportunity to participate in the UMS Alumni Entrepreneurship Tour , Azizul Julirin who runs a salad vegetable cultivation business in Aquafarm, Kundasang.

In addition, the participants also visited the Sably Goat Haven Farm, Ranau which was run by Sably Yusin and the Pet Zoo (Pet Zoo) - Rabbit Village which was run by Jubair Juhinin, who is also an entrepreneurial alumnus of UMS.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mass Hareeza Ali, Director of CEM UPM, UMS graduates are encouraged to venture into agro-tourism-based businesses, similar to those undertaken by Putra Science Park UPM. This means that the Agro-tourism programme has a bright future to pursue in the future.

The Meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu (Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni) UPM chairman of MAKMUM with the assistance of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Graduate Employability, CEM as the secretariat of MAKMUM 2021/2022.
