THE CEREMONY OF HANDOVER OF MoU BETWEEN GENYOUTH SDN BHD AND UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA (UPM)

SERDANG, 3 Sept - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has formed a strategic partnership with GenYouth Sdn Bhd in entrepreneurship through the exchange of entrepreneurial experience, expertise, ideas, technology and innovation from both parties.

GenYouth (GY) is a social enterprise platform that supports youth in entrepreneurship development. GY assists in creating and organizing entrepreneurial mindsets, innovations and leadership programs for university and college campuses in Malaysia to attract students to join entrepreneurship programs.

The purpose is to provide opportunities and entrepreneurial engagement efforts through sharing and partnerships with local communities on social, national business and corporate responsibilities.

UPM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato' Dr Aini Ideris said that the strategic collaboration includes development in the context of entrepreneurship and at the same time provide students the infrastructure to enhance the quality of their education and the effectiveness of industrial training.

"The gap between academic and practical learning can be bridged in real life environment to raise awareness, provide entrepreneurship support, equip and empower future generations with a better perspective on entrepreneurship."

Meanwhile, the Director of Centre of Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Marketability, Prof. Madya Dr Mass Hareeza Ali also stated that the collaboration between both parties will also be beneficial to the development of entrepreneurial culture for the students and in the mean time, help in improving the marketability of graduates.

According to her, "In addition to expanding their knowledge in the entrepreneurial world, this collaboration will also be able to promote marketability as well as generating income throughout their studies."

MoU UPM-GenYouth Sdn Bhd was signed by UPM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato' Dr Aini Ideris and GenYouth Sdn Bhd CEO, Eldrick Koh as witnessed by Minister from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs in a Meeting with Minister in conjunction with Minggu Perkasa Putra 2019/2020 Session.
