SERDANG, OCTOBER 18: The UPM Career and Entrepreneurship Carnival MyCareer @ MOHE 2023 successfully achieved its target of 2,000 visitors. The event took place at the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) UPM over two days from October 17 to 18, 2023.

The carnival featured the participation of 20 employers offering 1,000 job opportunities, alongside a series of workshops and seminars covering diverse topics including company partnerships, personal appearance tips, high-impact resume writing, and interview strategies.

This initiative provided invaluable opportunities for students and graduates to connect with industry professionals. Discussions ranged from exploring career scopes and paths to unlocking individual potential based on unique abilities.

The program was inaugurated by Ms. Fazidah Mustafa, Secretary of the Strategic Planning Division, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Also present was Mr. Mahbob Yusof, Chief Librarian of UPM, representing the UPM Management Committee.

Ms. Fazidah emphasized the importance of such events in the ever-evolving job market. She highlighted that amidst the digital workforce era, where technology often poses a challenge to human capital, the fundamental truth remains: companies will always rely on human talents.

 She cited a McKinsey study, stating that superior talent can be up to eight times more productive. Hence, it is crucial for individuals to possess the right skills and competencies.

The UPM Career and Entrepreneurship Carnival, organized annually by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development and Market Employability (CEM) UPM, plays a pivotal role in enhancing the employability rate of UPM graduates. The success of this year's carnival in achieving its goal signifies a step forward in empowering the future workforce – CEM.
