Social Enterprise @ Urban Community (SE @ UC)

Social Enterprise @ Urban Community (SE@UC) is a program in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to help increase household income and economy of the Urban community. Students will engage in activities that involve entrepreneurial skills and knowledge to help and provide added value to the urban community to form a business that can be run at home.

Among the objectives of the Social Enterprise @ Urban Community (SE @ UC) program is to create urban community entrepreneurs, increase urban community household income, transform the mindset of students and entrepreneurs in the field of entrepreneurship through field work sessions as social entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship in the community through students as entrepreneurial agents.

The program involved several phases initiated with the first phase of the Training of Trainers (TOT) which involved the UPM community and students to explain their program and role description while the second phase was an entrepreneurial workshop and last was a sale carnival to promote community products involved.

The impact of this program can be seen from all aspects of interest in becoming a Student Entrepreneur as well as enhancing entrepreneurial characteristics among students, enhancing university visibility with the community, sharing knowledge and university expertise with the community, and even enhancing the community's economy and public relations with local community.
