8 UPM STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE DIGITAL INNOVATION CREATIVEPRENEUR 2022 PROGRAM

12 January 2023, Kuala Nerus - The Digital Innovation Creativepreneur (DICE) Programme 2022 was held to celebrate the development of digital creative content at the Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (IPT) level.

DICE 2022 is one of KPT's efforts with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (Unisza) to create a conducive platform for students in the field of creative landscape, enhancing talent, as well as empowering product development and creative promotion initiatives. A total of 172 students and 43 IPT lecturers have produced 43 creative content projects, including animated trailers, short films, documentaries, augmented reality applications, virtual reality applications, and mobile gaming apps.

Two groups consisting of 4 students from each group, namely students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UPM participated in this program. Two mentors from the same faculty, Dr. Hizmawati Madzin and Ts. Dr. Siti Khadijah Ali participated in the program as advisors for each group. The programme also has the support and cooperation of external agencies and great industry partners, such as Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDeC), CRADLE Fund Sdn. Bhd., MYStartUP, KRU Entertainment, Warnakala Studio, MRANTI, Celcom, MZR Global, V3X Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Tolahah Creative.

The closing ceremony was held successfully at Dewan Al Muktafi Billah Shah, UniSZA and officiated by YBrs. Puan Noraidah Abdullah, TSUB Strategic Planning Division of MOHE and also attended by YBhg. Prof. Dr. Fadzli Adam, Vice-Chancellor of UniSZA. The Deputy Director of CEM, Encik Ludinata Misnun also attended the closing ceremony of the programme which was held with great fanfare.

For the Creative Video category, the first place has been embraced by UPNM through the Maha Studio Startup Company. When the Startup Company Fabul Ar Resources from KK Selayang, won the first place for the Interactive Media category.

CEM Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Mass Hareeza Ali said this program  provides exposure in the  era  of  digital entrepreneurship to students  and should be continued to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students.
