BANGI, July 29 – Muhammad Afig Iskandar bin Adrel, a final year student of Bachelor of Business Administration at the School of Business and Economics UPM, successfully won the Entrepreneurship Leadership Award at the Anugerah Putra Ikon (API) UPM 2024 ceremony held at Bangi Resort Hotel here today.

This award is given to UPM students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in entrepreneurship, particularly through active involvement and organizing high-impact programs.

Mohd Afig has been actively involved in various entrepreneurial activities at the university, including organizing entrepreneurship programs at various levels. His close collaboration with the Center for Entrepreneurship Development and Graduate Marketability (CEM) UPM has enabled him to develop skills and gain valuable experience in the world of entrepreneurship.

After receiving the award, he expressed his gratitude to CEM UPM for the guidance and support provided throughout his involvement in entrepreneurial activities at the university.

"This award is a great motivation for me to continue pursuing my dreams in entrepreneurship," said the owner of the Putra Agro Burger kiosk at Tan Sri Aishah Ghani College.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hizmawati Madzin, Director of CEM UPM, said, Mohd Afig is an exemplary student who has shown high dedication and an extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit.

"We at CEM UPM are proud of his achievements and hope this success will inspire other students to strive for excellence in the field of entrepreneurship.

"The Entrepreneurship Leadership Award is a recognition for UPM students who have achieved excellence in entrepreneurship, and Mohd Afig is a shining example of promoting entrepreneurship among university students.", She added.

The Anugerah Putra Ikon (API) is a platform to recognize and encourage students who demonstrate holistic and competent excellence, in line with Goal 1 of the UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025, which is to produce resilient graduates who can face future challenges.

A total of 19 awards were contested, including the Individual Special Cluster (2 Awards), Team Special Cluster (4 Awards), Volunteerism Cluster (3 Awards), Academic and Intellectual Development Cluster (3 Awards), Social Development Cluster (3 Awards), Student Leadership Cluster (3 Awards), and 1 main award, the Anugerah Putra Ikon 2024. – CEM
