Serdang, 24 March 2025 – The Centre for Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Marketability (CEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues its faculty engagement initiative through a roadshow held today at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSKTM), with the aim of introducing CEM’s roles and services while fostering strategic collaboration in student development.

The CEM delegation, led by its Director, Associate Professor Dr. Hizmawati Madzin, was warmly received by the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, YBhg. Professor Dato’ Dr. Shamala A/P K. Subramaniam. The visit also included a two-way discussion session between CEM and the faculty’s management team.

The session served to highlight CEM’s key initiatives, platforms, and services designed to support students in building strong career pathways and exploring digital entrepreneurship opportunities. It also provided a platform for both parties to identify strategic collaboration opportunities that can empower students with relevant skills and exposure to current career trends.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Hizmawati, students in the field of computer science and information technology possess unique advantages to excel in the fast-evolving digital world, making early exposure to career and entrepreneurial opportunities all the more vital.

“Through this roadshow, we aim to share valuable information and opportunities offered by CEM with the faculty, while exploring potential collaborations that can benefit student development,” she said.

During the session, several key career platforms were introduced, including MyNext by TalentCorp, MyFutureJobs by PERKESO, and LinkedIn, along with CEM’s various soft skills and entrepreneurship development programmes.

CEM will continue to conduct roadshows across other faculties at UPM as part of its ongoing commitment to building a holistic support ecosystem that prepares UPM students for future careers and ventures.
