SERDANG, July 20 - The Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Development and Graduate Employability (CEM) UPM, Associate Professor Dr. Mass Hareeza Ali @ Hamid, has been honoured with the Vice-Chancellor's Fellowship Award in the Student Development Category at the Majlis Gemilang Putra 2023 (MGP 2023) held here today.

As an expert in entrepreneurship and business communication, she expressed her joy after receiving the award at the event.

She stated that today's achievement was not solely due to her efforts but was the result of teamwork with the CEM staff throughout her eight-year tenure as the Director of the center.

"I believe my involvement at the ministry level, leading a team of writers in developing the Graduate Employability Strategic Plan (PSKG 2021-2025) (Higher Education Institutions) and the Public University Entrepreneurship Action Plan (UA) Malaysia, has contributed to my selection for this award.

"Through both plans, we were able to design and implement various entrepreneurship and high-impact career programs at UPM. Undoubtedly, this has greatly benefitted our students and graduates," said the recipient of the Top 5 Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year 2023 Award when met after MGP 2023 at the Main Hall of UPM today.

Her active involvement and commitment while leading CEM have demonstrated remarkable changes and impacts on UPM, particularly in increasing the percentage of graduate employability and student entrepreneurship development.

Her outstanding achievement is reflected through initiatives and projects in graduate employability that have contributed to the increase of UPM's graduate employability rate from 85% in 2016 to 99.4% in 2022.

In 2016, UPM was also awarded the Best Entrepreneurial University at the Ministry of Higher Education Entrepreneurial Awards (MEA) organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). - CEM
