HAFIZ AND ROHIDAYAH WIN LUCKY DRAW FOR BICYCLES

Serdang, November 15 - Fourth-year student from the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammad Hafiz Izlan bin Badrul Hisham, and second-year student from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Siti Rohidayah binti Mohd Kasim, each brought home a RMB brand bicycle as they emerged winners of the grand prize through a lucky draw at the UPM MyCareer @ MOHE 2023 Career and Entrepreneurship Carnival.

The prizes were presented by Deputy Director of CEM, Ludinata Misnun, during the carnival's lucky draw session, an event organized by the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Graduate Employability Development (CEM) UPM in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

Speaking to reporters after the lucky draw prize presentation, Hafiz expressed surprise at winning the grand prize after attending the carnival to gather career information from industry representatives.

"I was shocked when the organizers contacted me recently to inform me that I won this lucky draw. I thought it was a scam," he said.

Another lucky draw prize recipient, Rohidayah, who also received a bicycle, described the prize as a blessing after attending the carnival to seek career advice from UPM career counselors.

Meanwhile, during a media session, Ludinata stated that the lucky draw, conducted throughout the career carnival, was one of the main attractions to promote the carnival—an initiative by UPM to enhance the employability rate of UPM graduates.

Throughout the lucky draw series, a total of 31 lucky winners took home various prizes offered.

Ludinata mentioned that during the implementation of the career carnival, over 2,000 visitors attended the UPM MyCareer @ MOHE 2023 Career and Entrepreneurship Carnival held at the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) UPM here.

The two-day carnival, which took place from October 17 to 18, 2023, saw the participation of 20 employers offering 1,000 job opportunities, along with a series of workshops and seminars covering various topics such as company collaborations, personal appearance tips, high-impact resume writing, and interview tips.

Earlier, UPM successfully achieved a 99.4 percent graduate employability rate for the year 2022 through a study conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) – Graduate Tracer Study. – CEM.
