SERDANG, 29 November 2024 — Muhammad Ikram Marozan, a Bachelor of Science in Plantation Management (Honours) graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), emerged as the recipient of the Shell Tiram Wawasan Entrepreneurship Award at UPM's 48th Convocation Ceremony held today.

Ikram received the award from His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, the Chancellor of UPM, during the ceremony at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre.

The award included RM5,000 in cash, a gold medal, and a certificate of achievement sponsored by Tiram Wawasan Sdn. Bhd., a successful Shell petrol station operator in Malaysia.

Expressing his gratitude, Ikram thanked UPM for granting him the award on the most meaningful day of his academic journey.

“Every graduate has unique experiences and lessons throughout their time at UPM, but for me, the most valuable lesson behind my success is the blessing of my parents' prayers.

"When they pray and give their blessings, Insha-Allah, all our endeavors become easier because a mother’s prayer for her child is a prayer without barriers," Ikram shared.

Over his four years of study, Ikram excelled academically while also achieving numerous prestigious accolades, including:

• Winner of the Best Entrepreneurial Project Award in Johor 2023,
• Johor Best Student Icon in Entrepreneurship 2023,
• Gold Medal from the Malaysian Agricultural Institute 2024,
• UPM Student Representative Council Leadership Award 2024,
• Best Presenter at the Regional Student Leadership Summit in Indonesia 2023,
• Silver Medal at the Innovation & Invention Show in Katowice, Poland 2024.

Offering advice to his fellow UPM students, Ikram said, success is not exclusive to the extraordinary; it belongs to every soul that refuses to give up.

It reflects perseverance and dreams that continue to shine in our steps. Keep moving forward, for fortune always awaits those who strive tirelessly.

Ikram’s active involvement in university entrepreneurship activities, particularly through CEM programs, has laid a foundation for him to become an even more successful entrepreneur after graduation.

His achievement demonstrates that dedication, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset can inspire peers to embark on their own business ventures. – CEM
