Kuala Lumpur, November 1, 2023 - The Graduate Employability Conference (PPKG) 2023, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully drew more than 300 invited guests, this morning.

The Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, was also present at the event to officiate PPKG 2023 and deliver his remarks in front of IPT academia members, industry players, relevant ministries and agencies, as well as student representatives.

This conference, conducted in partnership with strategic allies such as Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Social Security Organization (PERKESO), and LinkedIn Malaysia, aims to identify and discuss the potential job market for graduates in the future.

According to the Minister, PPKG 2023 serves as a crucial platform to formulate the best interventions for KPT to enhance the employability of Malaysian IPT graduates.

"It also aims to determine the best solutions for issues such as job-skills mismatch, starting salaries, value addition, and more," he added.

The organization of PPKG 2023 aligns with the initiatives outlined in Strategy Two: Student Career Expansion in the Strategic Plan for Graduate Employability (PSKG) 2021-2025. PSKG serves as a guide for Higher Education Institutions (IPT) in realizing the employability agenda for their respective graduates.

This conference also witnessed presentations from prominent figures in the education and industry sectors, including Dr. Nungsari Ahmad Radhi, Datuk Mohamad Idham Nawawi, Datuk Dr. Tengku Naufal Tengku Mansor, and many others.

With the presence of industry and education leaders, PPKG 2023 is expected to contribute significantly to efforts aimed at enhancing the quality of graduate employability in Malaysia – CEM.
