BATU KAWAN, 7th March 2024 – The Bootcamp University – Community Social Enterprise (UCSE) and University Social Enterprise Competition (USEC) 2024 were held at The Ship Campus, Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang from 5th to 7th March 2024, aimed at providing exposure and entrepreneurial knowledge sharing to student entrepreneurs.

According to Dr. Mohd Safwan Ghazali, Director of the Center of Entrepreneurship Education and Development, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), who also serves as the program director, a total of 106 students comprising 53 groups from various Higher Education Institutions participated in this program to present their business proposals in the pitching session to the judges for the determination of the grant value they would receive.

"Each participant attending the program today has the opportunity to obtain a grant value with a maximum amount of RM40,000.00 based on their business planning and presentation during the judging session," he said.

Two student entrepreneur groups from UPM, namely Tapai Maromaro led by Mohd Ikram Marozan and Pertanian Tanpa Cangkul (PTC) led by Adibnur Faaez Abdul Razak, successfully obtained the grant with each receiving RM40,000.00.

According to Adibnur, through this program, they can start the business that has been planned together with group members successfully, with the aim of securing a spot in the final competition in September this year.

The Bootcamp University – Community Social Enterprise (UCSE) and University Social Enterprise Competition (USEC) 2024 is a program organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in collaboration with the Malaysian University Student Entrepreneurship Council (MAKMUM), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and Student Welfare Foundation (YKS).
