UNIQA WINS NMEPC BOOTCAMP MATCH 2022

Besut, Terengganu – Uniqa emerged as one of the winners in the Pitching Bootcamp Match during the  National Micro Enterprise Pitching Competition (NMEPC) Program recommended by Universiti Teknikal Melaka (Utem) and the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT).

The victory enabled UPM to bring home the hampers presented by YBhg. Assoc. Prof. Datuk Dr. Sabri bin Mohamad Sharif, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) of the Technical University of Melaka at MRANTI Techpark, Bukit Jalil.

The Uniqa group, represented by Mohamad Azeem bin Mohamad Isa, a student of the School of Business and Economics, managed to capture the hearts of the jury with the idea of scented candles from used oil to overcome environmental pollution problems such as water pollution and flash floods, thus overcoming the stress problems faced by the students. The group is under the  guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mass Hareeza Ali, senior lecturer of  the School of Business and Economics.  The jury was also interested in the group's presentation display because they used the latest infographics.

"I thank the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Graduate Employability (CEM) UPM for giving us the opportunity to participate in  this NMEPC program. We will make  a good commitment throughout the  program  and also during the finals". Add to that.

UPM has sent two groups,  Uniqa and Rain Coffee Group represented by Ng Yong Cheng, 'Aina Akmal and Atiqah Supani, students of the Department of  Industrial Design by   bringing their unique idea of coffee cereal products that practice the concept of "Go Green and Zero Waste" with the guidance of Ts. Dr. Rosalam Che Me, lecturer of the Department of Industrial Design,  Faculty of Design and Architecture.

Director of CEM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mass Hareeza Ali was also present at the opening of the program hoping that the group from UPM will be more creative and innovative in producing products in order to attract the attention of the judges at the end of the competition.

The objective of the NMEPC Programme is as a platform for participants to receive guidance to formulate new business models based on technology and innovation. Atotal of  48 entries among higher learning institutes include Public Institutes of Higher Education, Polytechnics and Community Colleges.
