Kuala Lumpur, 8th March 2024 - UPM won 2 awards at the MOHE Entrepreneurship Awards (AKKPT) 2023 Ceremony held here tonight.

UPM's victory was achieved through the Best Entrepreneurship Mentor Award 2023, won by Associate Professor Dr. Mass Hareeza Ali, Director of CEM. She took home a trophy, certificate, and cash prize of RM15,000.00.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Hafidz Shahril Izwan, a student of the Faculty of Agriculture - Tan Sri Aishah Ghani Residential College, won first place, the Best Student Startup Company Award 2023. He also received a trophy, certificate, and cash prize of RM15,000.00.

Commenting further on his victory, Dr. Mass said that this victory demonstrates CEM's success in nurturing entrepreneurial development at UPM through targeted mentoring methods.

"I would like to thank the management of UPM for their strong support of student entrepreneurship activities at UPM.

"This victory strengthens our determination to continue developing UPM students who possess entrepreneurial attributes," she added.

Meanwhile, Hafidz said his victory stemmed from the entrepreneurial activities he has been involved in since his studies at the UPM Agricultural Science Foundation Center.

"Thanks to Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, UPM's TNCHEPA, who has encouraged me to delve into student business fields. Not forgetting CEM, which has provided me with a lot of guidance," he continued.

The KPT Entrepreneurship Awards 2023 is a prestigious award organized by the Ministry of Higher Education every two years to recognize the initiatives of Higher Education Institutions in Entrepreneurship Development and Education - CEM.
