MICRO ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2023
Program Background
The Microcredit Entrepreneurship Development (MED) program is an initiative in collaboration between UPM and MTDC. This initiative focuses on entrepreneurship development for UPM students, including microloan financing, idea enhancement, monitoring, guidance, and mentoring.
MTDC has provided financial facilities for the MED Program amounting to RM40,000. This is part of MTDC's Corporate and Social Responsibility efforts. The MED program aims to enhance human capacity development and improve socio-economic status, especially for those less fortunate.
Students have the opportunity to apply for initial business loans for startup businesses or to increase the capital turnover for those who are already in business. Business loan approvals are based on the business needs and will be granted by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Graduate Employability Development (CEM) UPM.
