Read@Uni CEM: Cultivating a Reading Culture at the University
Read@Uni CEM was established in 2019 in alignment with the introduction of the Read@Uni program by the then Minister of Education Malaysia, YB Dr. Maszlee Malik. This program aims to foster a reading culture among university students and staff.
The Read@Uni CEM is located in the TRAINING SPACE @ CEM, situated at the CEM Office in the Student Complex. This area not only serves as a reading space but also as a venue for discussions related to entrepreneurship and careers for student entrepreneurs and UPM students. Additionally, it acts as a place to strengthen camaraderie among CEM staff.
The theme of Read@Uni CEM is centered around 'TRAINING SPACE,' equipped with tables, chairs, a whiteboard, and in the future, a Smart TV. These facilities make the space versatile and beneficial for all stakeholders.
To support the primary goal of Read@Uni, CEM has provided a variety of reading materials through external donations. These materials cover various genres and functions, aiming to instill a reading culture among students and staff.
With the establishment of Read@Uni CEM, it is hoped that the reading culture will continue to flourish and become an integral part of the university community's lifestyle, thereby enhancing their knowledge and skills in various fields.
